The Art Vandelay Trio is back for a Saturday night in the Captain's Quarters at Lovell's giving them free reign of the place for the whole weekend. Reviews have been very favorable so why not have more of a good thing? The acoustic trio consists of Jim & Steve Polecastro with Tony Mandolini.

The band takes many requests from oldies to modern rock done acoustically, and at a volume quiet enough you can still talk. If you like the sound of 12-string acoustic guitars playing the jangly hits that shaped rock and roll as we know it, then you should come out and see this night of musical entertainment. Bobby Rex will perform solo starting at 8:00pm at Arrowhead Restaurant & Bar on west Butterfield Rd. in Wheaton this Thursday.  You don't have to golf to enjoy a pleasant meal and live music here in this beautiful building on these magnificent grounds.  Bar also has 15 HD televisions so you won't miss your favorite sporting event. Lovell's of Lake Forest welcomes a new duo to the Captain's Quarters this wintery evening starting at 8pm.  Cirrus Falcon is a versatile musical duo that plays from a HUGE catalog of material. Donna Herula is a Chicago born singer and guitarist who plays traditional classic, country and Delta blues. Tony is a local singer songwriter with a growing catalog of thoughtful tunes to his credit. Together they play a mix of acoustic blues, country, pop, folk, & standards. She plays fingerstyle and blues slide guitar on her 1930's Triolian and National Tricone resonator guitars. During their performance you may hear some songs of the early blues women including Ma Rainey, Bessie Smith and Memphis Minnie in addition to songs by traditional musicians such as Robert Johnson, Robert Nighthawk, Furry Lewis and Blind Blake. Donna was the winner of the 2010 Windy City Blues Society Blues Challenge (solo/duo category) and travelled down to Memphis earlier this year for the National Challenge.

Marlon and Kris are back at 8pm for a holiday mission briefing, and will be performing mostly original material described as "Americana" with hints of country. Topical songs with potent lyrical content, ballads, folk, and blues styles all covered. In other words, modern bar room troubadours par excellence. Influences include Tom Waits, Steve Earle, Townes Van Zandt, and Delbert McClinton along with some of the greatest songwriters of the Calvin Coolidge administation. Fruteland is an author, recording artist, storyteller and blues oral historian who grew up on Chicago’s West-side. Fruteland is a three time Blues Music Award Nominee and a recipient of the Blues Foundation’s Keeping the Blues Alive award. He performs acoustic blues, folk and singer/songwriter styles worldwide and has created the award winning *All About the Blues Series - Blues in the Schools Programs. Blues in the School programs provide music education and instruction.

This unique restaurant is just off of Butterfield Rd. between Oak Brook Mall & Yorktown Mall. We really look forward to this gig and meeting the new faces of DuPage County along with folks from out of town while reconnecting with some very good friends as well. If you enjoy dining out on occasion, here's a great place to try! They grill everything on Weber Grills includng the vegetables. Sports games are usually on the tv, and drinks will be flowing.
