The First Thursday of the month in the Captain's Quarters will be the home of a new open mic hosted by Bobby Rex. Starting at 7pm, duos, solos, musicians, comedians, performers (drag or otherwise), poets, and small acoustic bands are welcome to perform at Lovell's in the true open mic style. Come out and have fun in a casual yet elegant setting the first Thursday every month, and show off your talents. Live music duos perform at Lovell's every weekend.

The 1st Friday of every month will feature The Two Johns John Devlin & John Metzger in the Captain's Quarters at Lovell's starting at 8pm. This duo keeps coming back due to the overwhelming response from local fans. They have performed in the Captain's Quarters over 70 times in the past 7 years. No cover charge. Enjoy a variety of musical styles with this 2 acoustic guitar live duet. Wit and musicianship go hand in hand. The kitchen stops serving dinner at 10pm. Reservations always helpful. Welcome back the Downhome Sophisticates from up Waukegan way. This 4 piece band consists of: singer/guitarist David Dallison, harmonica player Patrick Reninger, bassist Bill Taylor and guitarist, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Chris Sipos. Combining the intimacy of a folk group, the improvisation of a jazz combo, and the energy of a rock or blues band, the Downhome Sophsticates are versatile performers who can excite an audience with a spirited concert or keep the dance floor crowded. Their sets nearly always include some classic soul or blues by Al Green or Muddy Waters, more contemporary selections by Tom Waits, Bob Dylan or Harry Connick Jr., and the occasional chestnut from the 21st century by the likes Gnarls Barkley, Weezer or Jack Johnson. Dinner is served until 10pm. Drinks served until midnight.
